A Letter from Naches: Monday, July 08, 2013

Subject: Hello!

Hi there family!! This week has been one wonderful week. We have been trying to work so hard at finding new investigators and gaining member trust in this area. Missionaries in the past have really blown it and now it is up to Sister Zink and I to make sure we rekindle that missionary fire here in Naches. We have had some really wonderful lessons this week with Lisa.

We taught her all about the plan of salvation last week and had some just a really good discussion and in turn she pretty much taugh us. haha She is so ready!! I have never met anyone as ready as she is. She is just so ready to listen to the gospel and do what the Lord asks her to. She has so much faith and determination. We got to the end of the lesson and we were talking about the kingdoms of Glory and you could just see her working it through in her mind. We had an opportunity to bare testimony of the plan and how it has blessed us. I love being a missionary for that reason. I love being able to testify. Sharing with them how it makes me feel. Each time I do, it's different and each time it sinks deeper. It is just the best thing in the world! We went back again on Saturday night and since we knew that we would have to just jump a hurtle with the coffee thing we decided to teach it to her now instead of later this week. She had a hard time with it at first but she is doing so well! She came to church yesterday and she turns around and looks at us and says " I'm dying here sisters but it's okay" haha I had a hard time not laughing but she is just the funniest and best person ever. Since our lesson she hadn't had a cup of coffee. She had this plan to kind of tapper off but when she is dedicated to something she means it! We have another lesson with her tonight and we are talking all about the doctrine of Christ. It is going to be fantastic!

We met with President Ware on Saturday and he is just the kindest and sweetest man in the world!! He and Sister Ware are just so excited to be here and so excited to work hard. They talked a lot about the hastening of the work and how we needed to prepare ourselves for the hastening. That really sunk in. We think sometimes that is it is all about everyone else that needs to step it up but what are we doing to step it up. He talked a lot about being cheerful. He is one of the most cheerful people I have ever met! I am just so excited to work with the two of the. Well my dear family, I love you all a lot and hope that your week goes well. I know that this is God's true church on the earth day. I know that he hears us and answers our prayers.

Love you all!!

Subject: Miracles!!!!

My goodness my darling family!! This week had been filled with miracles that I did not expect. So many good things happening here in the WKM.

Weird thing is... the mission split today. Vancouver is now it's own mission. It's kind of weird to think about that. I'm truly lucky to be serving in the Kennewick mission though. I would not trade it for the world! Our new mission president is Pres. Ware. I'm so excited to work with him!!

So on to the miracles! So last Monday night we went over to the Moore's house and had dinner and were suppose to have a little family home evening. We ask Brother Moore what he wanted us to do for family home evening and he told us nothing and just told us to come. So we go over and eat dinner and we are all sitting in the front room just chatting and then Lisa ( sister Moore) says to us " So sisters, what are you teaching me tonight?" Sis. Zink and I were both looked at each other and said well what do you want to know? She knew exactly what she wanted to talk about. She told us that she wanted to read Moroni 10:3-5. Then she says "Actually, I want to read the whole chapter." Sis. Zink and I were so excited. We told her that was perfect and we started reading. We had a great discussion and when we got done she said she was so excited to learn more! She got really quiet and said, " If this what the end is like.. I can't imagine what the beginning is going to be like." She is amazing!

Well went back over on Tuesday night again for dinner. The night before we left her with 3 Nephi 11 to read. So we followed up on it at dinner on Tues. She thought she had to read all of 3 Nephi so she started in chapter 1 haha. She is just so excited and willing to do anything. We shared more with her about the background of the Book of Mormon. She loved that was connecting all the dots with Joseph Smith and everything. We got to talking about baptism and she told us that she was a little bit away from that. We told her that she is a lot closer than she thinks. We pulled out Mosiah 18:8-10 and asked her if this is the desire of her heart than what is holding her back. She thought for a minute and then asked us if we really thought she was ready, and we both told her YES. haha We put her on date for baptism for July 27th. She is so excited and so are we!! We have another lesson with her tonight and I just can't even wait!!!

Well my dear family, I love you all!! I just know that this church is true.

Love you!!
